HistoryLiving Water Films started out as an idea back in 1995 "How can we make high quality Christian films outside of Hollywood that the secular world would be interested in watching" It seemed crazy at the time if not impossible. "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." Mathew 19:26In early 2000 as digital technology kept leaping forward the idea of "Making our own films in house" was no longer such a far fetched idea, in fact it was happening. Again the idea was presented to a fellow film industry professional "Hey why don't we purchase our own camera, build a camera jib, dolly and track, get a pc with editing software and some lighting and make our own films"? He replied "That's craziness, it will never sell. Do it right; find someone to finance it, rent professional equipment and hire a professional crew". About three months later he called and said "Hey, remember what I said about buying your own equipment and doing it yourself, well forget what I said, a church in Albany, GA did just that; You can rent it at Blockbuster." The film was called "Flywheel" and that same church later made the feature film "Facing the Giants" in 2006 and recently "Fireproof" 2008. "Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks". Matthew 7:7-8It took 12 years of God's preparation to get to that moment. We formed Living Water Films and began developing several projects some of which we had written years back. Again there were delays and obstacles we faced. But what we didn't know was that something was about to change everything. The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait for him and seek him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. And it is good for the young to submit to the yoke of discipline. Lamentations 3:25 There was a new digital camera that was being developed called The Red One . This would be the first digital camera that could shoot in 4k (near IMAX resolution) and capture raw data allowing unlimited post editing. It just happened that some friends who we wanted to help us with our first project, had put down a deposit to purchase the Red. They were #610 on the pre-sale list. Again we would need to wait. We began to wonder if we would ever get our first film off the ground. At the advice of a friend we decided to attend a film conference called the International Christian Visual Media Conference (ICVM) Reverence for the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. The rewards of wisdom come to all who obey him. Praise his name forever! Psalms 111:10 The conference confirmed what we felt in our hearts and changed our perspective. Praise God! So 13 years later we find ourselves at this very moment. We have been given the chance to produce a high quality Christian film that the secular world might actually watch and enjoy; "Fatal Flaw" will be completed in early or late June! We could never have planned it this way. When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
